Not impressed, no real great stories or secret info about celebs. Not bad if you have nothing else to read. Very quick and light, maybe a few chuckles.
First, let me be clear: I'm a fan of Kathy Griffin. Her silly stunt with Donald Trump didn't bother me. Her Bravo stand up specials make me laugh out loud. Yet, when I saw her in Houston two years ago, she wasn't funny. And this book isn't funny.She goes to great lengths in this book to show how much celebrities like her and how comfortable she is around them. She name drops events she's attended and covers she's appeared on; she mentions which A list stars (Alec Baldwin, Pitbull) have told her she's hot or funny; she even talks about how big her house is. I don't know if any of that is true (and if it's not, that makes the stories particularly sad), but either way, she's killed her joke.Kathy's whole schtick is that she's a Hollywood outsider, punching up. Her series was called "My Life on the D List", for pete's sake! But by telling stories to prove that A-listers know who she is, want to talk to her, and care when she makes fun of them, that schtick is ruined. She spent an entire career trying to show that she is NOT part of that world -- and this entire book, doing the opposite. And it's not funny at all.
Not very interesting. Expected more from Griffin . Some what repetitive.
After loving her first book, I made mistake of buying this latest book. It was terrible, not least bit funny and waste of money. I'm an avid reader and this ranks among the worst books I've ever tried to read.
Meh. Fair to middling.... The stories just are not that funny or interesting and Ms.Griffin comes off as someone attempting to pump up herself at someone else expense. Should have past on it.
If you are looking for one excellent way to waste your time, this is it. Kathy's 'celebrities' are then 10 minutes of fame variety. Her comments are mostly vapid and 'cute' (NO, that is NOT a compliment). There are those moments when all I can think of is "This is totally pathetic". Go ahead! Bore yourself to death.
I've never been so disappointed in a book, I really thought it would be as funny or funnier than Kathy in person, boring boring boring
I read her last book and enjoyed it thoroughly. I didn’t like this one at all. The format was annoying and every story seemed to be about Kathy acting like an obnoxious child and how charming that behavior is. Turns out it’s not.
